Overview

The Marcé of North America (MONA) Biannual Conference will be held in person this year in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. Join us from Thursday, November 6th to Saturday, November 8th for an engaging and informative experience. Pre-conference workshops will take place on Wednesday, November 5th, offering specialized learning opportunities before the main event.

Purpose

This comprehensive 3.5 day program is the largest North American conference dedicated to presenting scientific advances in perinatal mental health. The program will present research (basic, translational, clinical, and educational) that addresses the health of pregnant and postpartum women with psychiatric disorders. It is thus a forum that will present the latest scientific advances for both scientists and health professionals who study or care for the perinatal mental health population and their families.

Target Audience

This conference is designed for North American healthcare professionals involved in research and/or clinical care of pregnant and postpartum women with psychiatric disorders. As the regional chapter of Marcé International, MONA primarily attracts participants from Canada, the U.S., include Mexico, and other Latin American countries in North America, though international attendees are also welcome. The target audience includes psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, family physicians, obstetricians, nurse practitioners, educators, researchers, scientists and more.

Learning Objectives

1. Participants will be better able to analyze and address the most up-to-date research in the area of mental health in pregnancy and postpartum, ranging from basic and biological science to clinical and policy-level research.

2. Participants will be better able to contribute to and evaluate existing research and clinical best-practice, as well as knowledge gaps for specific understudied areas of perinatal mental health: obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and bipolar disorder.

3. Participants will be better able to translate perinatal mental health research knowledge into clinical care, advocacy and educational opportunities for diverse populations across North America and beyond.
