Deepika Goyal, PhD, FNP
Dr. Goyal is a professor at San José State University, the Valley Foundation School of Nursing where she has been teaching for the past 15 years. She received her Master’s degree and family nurse practitioner certificate from San José State University and her PhD in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Goyal also maintains a clinical practice in the OB/GYN department at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. Over the past 18 years, Dr. Goyal has focused her research efforts on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and contributing factors among minority women, specifically, Asian American women. Her publications are among the first to highlight perinatal mental health among Asian American women in the United States. She has served as secretary for Marcé of North America since January 2018 and serves on the Maternal Mental Health Leadership Alliance and 2020Mom Board of Advisors. Dr. Goyal is a nurse educator, researcher, and clinician who is passionate about maternal mental health.
